Selfish Sewing Week

My daughter and I just returned from a few days away visiting some dear friends in Kansas.  It was such a lovely time!  Before we left though I did participate in selfish sewing week.  Selfish sewing week is a challenge hosted by Indie Sew, Kollabora, and Imagine Gnats.

Here are 3 of the 4 pieces I made for myself.

The first here is a pair of Hudson Pants made out of a Hello Bear knit.  First of all this pattern is pretty amazing.  They come together in a flash.  I used my serger for almost the whole pair.  I did leave off the drawstring.  These pants have been perfect for pjs and lounging around the house.  The only modification I made was to make the ankle band just a touch smaller (I have really small bony ankles).  There is definitely a mini pair of these in the works for my daughter!

Next I made two Sailor Tops by Fancy Tiger Crafts.  I used two fabrics that I have had stashed for a while now.  A Cotton + Steel lawn and Nani Iro double gauze.  The lawn was intended for an Emery Dress but when I pre-washed my fabric I must've had something in there that bled. I was able to cut around and get this top though.

Thanks for stopping by!! And have a great weekend!

Beginnings of a baby quilt

Hello there!  I am happy to report that my dance costume order is complete!!  What a great feeling that is.  My mom took on 2 for me thankfully but I did still make 17 in less than 2 weeks.  I'm a little tired and my house is a mess (hahaha!).

My husband has a couple of coworkers that are expecting shortly so this week I'm planning on making a quilt for one and a divided basket for the other (at least thats what I'm planning so far).  I took a teensy break from getting my house back in order to start the quilt.

It's the January block from Lady Harvatine.  I first saw it on instagram and fell in love.  Now back to tidying ;)
