Lane Raglan

Hi friends!!  I wanted to share with you this Lane Raglan by Hey June.  I actually made this almost a year ago now.  My mom had requested something like this for Christmas and I thought I might like one too :)  I used some knit fabric that I ordered from Fabric.com (I think they were all Telio).

(sorry for the wrinkles - I wear this all the time)

I added the arm bands for a more sporty look.   To add them I cut lengths of the mustard knit 2.5" wide.  Then I pressed down 1/2" on each side.  After that I sewed them to each arm before I inserted them into the shirt.

My mom loved hers too!  I really love this pattern (I should make more!).  I wear it all the time and even as a pajama top from time to time.  Its such a quick sew and the fit is spot on.

I've been trying to be a bit more intentional about my sewing lately.  I used to sew whatever pretty thing I felt like, not considering what I actually wear in my day to day life.  Needless to say, I have a closet full of handmade dresses that I rarely wear.  It feels good knowing what I am making I will ACTUALLY wear.  I'm hoping to get some more raglans and sweatshirts made before it gets chilly here.  After I get my daughter's Halloween costume made of course ;)

So here's to comfy clothes we actually wear!!

Hi friends!!  Welcome to my new site!!  Its taking a little getting used to using this new format for blog posts so bear with me.  Today I wanted to share this Seneca skirt by Seamwork magazine.  If you aren't familiar with Seamwork, its a wonderful online magazine.  For $7 a month you get 2 credits that you can use towards the patterns. They are all super fashionable and on trend AND the best part is most sew up in 3 hours or less!!  Ok back to the pattern.  I actually made this skirt last summer but never really wore it and kind of forgot about it.

I rediscovered it while cleaning out my closet and I am so glad that I did!!  I think I used either a Robert Kaufman laguna jersey or an Art Gallery jersey to sew this up.  As the pattern had promised it was a super quick sew!

It of course has pockets!!  It also features godet panel at the side seams which really elevates the style in my opinion.  Oh and its comfortable (secret pajamas)!!

Still kind of tinkering with this journal cover assignment for @makeartthatsells I couldn’t resist using our backyard daffodils that just started blooming.
